As a Behavior Specialist with Learning ARTS, you’ll play a crucial role impacting the lives of children with ASD. Your responsibilities will include working with our BCBAs to assess, develop, and implement individualized behavior intervention plans for individuals with developmental or behavioral disorders. You’ll conduct thorough assessments to understand your client’s strengths, challenges, and specific behavioral needs and design behavior intervention strategies that are evidence-based and tailored to the unique needs of the individual. You’ll work closely with clients, their families, and a team of professionals to execute these plans, monitoring progress and making necessary adjustments. You’ll utilize the principles of ABA to reinforce positive behaviors, reduce problem behaviors, and improve overall quality of life for their clients. Additionally, you’ll provide training and guidance to caregivers and support staff, empowering them to implement effective interventions consistently.

Starting Pay Range - $33 - $36/hour.

Responsibilities

As a Behavior Specialist, you’ll have the opportunity to work with a diverse range of clients and apply evidence-based interventions to help them achieve their goals.
  • Lead a dedicated team committed to the progress of our patients and the well-being of their families.
  • Supervise and support Behavior Technicians in their ABA Therapy
  • Travel to the clinic or the client's home for therapy sessions.
  • Implement ABA therapy techniques and interventions as per the behavior intervention plan.
  • Conduct engaging one-on-one therapy sessions, focusing on skill development and social interactions.
  • Set up an exciting environment for the client, complete with therapy materials.
  • Attend team meetings to track progress and discuss treatment plans.
  • Utilize data collection tools to measure progress.
  • Collaborate with the BCBA to adjust treatment strategies.
  • Provide support and guidance to the client's family.
  • Document session notes and complete required paperwork.
  • Ensure a clean and organized therapy environment

Skills & Qualifications

To make a difference, you need:
  • A Bachelor of ARTS or Science degree, along with:
    • Twelve semester units in applied behavior analysis and one year of experience in designing and/or implementing behavior modification intervention services; or
    • Two years of experience in designing and/or implementing behavior modification intervention services.
  • RBT or BCAT certification to kickstart your career in ABA.
  • Familiarity with Central Reach is a plus.
  • Reliable transportation for a smooth commute.
  • Supervisory experience that showcases your leadership skills.
  • A genuine love for interacting with children, even in short 20-minute stretches.
  • Physical capability to stand, sit, squat, bend, twist, and lift up to 50 lbs.
